How do you stand with God? Are you seeking to stand before Him in your own merit? Are you relying on church membership, baptism, confirmation, lodge membership, or your good reputation? None of these can give us a place before God. It must be, and can only be, “the true grace of God wherein ye stand” before Him. We can only stand before God in the merits of Another, His beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. We read in God’s Word of a coming time when “the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of His wrath is come: and who shall be able to stand?” “Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.” Be sure that you stand before God in Christ, “accepted in the Beloved,” entering “by faith into this grace wherein we stand.” |
I have no merit of my own To bring before a holy God; I must be cleansed by Jesus’ blood, As God has told me in His Word. |
Ephesians 1:6 --- Romans 5:2
From: Comfort Of The Scriptures
Definition of grace: The free and unmerited (or undeserved) favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.
"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
